If you need to extract the pages of your PDF documents and save them as independent image files, you might want to consider PDF to Image Converter to do the job. In its simple one-window interface you will find all the features and settings you need to produce high-quality images from any number of PDF files. The supported output formats include TIFF, JPG, PNG, PCX, BMP, and WMF, among others.

The interface is divided into three sections – the purpose of big panel on the left-hand side is merely to provide you with a preview of the PDF document you want to extract pages from. The right-hand side of the window has been left for the file selection and the settings configuration processes. If you happen not to be too familiar with image compression technologies, simply forget about the bottom half of that part of the window. Only the page range selection – which seems to have been put there in lack of a better place – is of interest for all types of users. In the upper part, however, you add your PDF files and decide on the output format of the images. And that is basically all you need to start converting your PDFs into good-quality image files. If, on the contrary, you are truly worried about the quality of the output and recognize CCITT, Packbits, and LZW as terms related to the resolution and the compression rate of certain images, you may want to adjust the quality of your TIFF and JPEG images according to the use you want to make of them.

The conversion process itself is reasonably fast and produces the expected results. For those who have Adobe Acrobat already installed in their systems a tool like this may seem irrelevant... But it is not – Acrobat’s “save as image” functionality is far from offering you not only a similar amount of output formats and settings, but also doesn't allow the batch extraction capabilities that this VeryPDF’s tool provides.
